Papers must clearly relate to Byzantine studies and be presented in North America. Grants are limited to one per applicant in a one-year period.
Evaluation
Applications will be by an external grants committee. The committee will assess the eligibility of the proposed activity and consider its merit. Preference will be given to applicants who have not received a grant in the previous two cycles.

Successful applicants will be reimbursed for eligible expenses up to the award amount. Eligible expenses include registration fees, lodging, meals, and transportation.
Recipients must submit the Request for Reimbursement Form and original receipts to the MJC no later than 30 days after the close of the conference. The MJC will consider grants forfeited if proper documentation is not submitted in a timely manner.
